Rescue, California?

Strange name, but YES, Rescue is a real place. Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, near the epicenter of the California Gold Rush, Rescue is rumored to have taken its name from a miner who was "Rescued from poverty" by his gold prospecting fortune. The authenticity of this claim can be debated, but the fact that gold was found here in the past, and is still found today, remains undisputed.
